The partners have 20+ years of collective experience as financial investors at a fund, strategic investors on behalf of one of the world’s largest casinos, and operators of venture capital backed technology companies.
Before co-founding Discerning Capital, Davis served as the Senior Managing Director of Digital Investments at Las Vegas Sands Corp (“LVS”). While at LVS, Davis was responsible for leading the organization’s venture investments and corporate development functions as it related to real-money wagering online and next generation entertainment. Prior to LVS, Davis was a Partner, Senior Analyst, and Consumer Sector Head at Sands Capital, a DC-based investment manager with $50B+ in AUM, for over 14 years. Davis earned a BS in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University, an MBA from both Columbia University and London Business School, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation. Davis lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Shea, and 3 kids.
Before co-founding Discerning Capital, David served as a Principal of Digital Investments at Las Vegas Sands Corp (“LVS”). While at LVS, David was responsible for supporting the organization’s venture investment and corporate development functions as it related to real-money wagering online and next generation entertainment. Prior to LVS, David was the Head of Finance for two venture capital backed technology startups and a Senior Associate at Sands Capital where he focused on the consumer sector. David earned a BS in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation. David lives in Washington, DC with his wife Olivia.
